Content Gap

A content gap analysis is a systematic approach to uncovering untapped potential in your content strategy. Instead of relying solely on your own existing content and keywords, this method allows you to think outside the box by analysing the content landscape of your competitors.

Essentially, the aim is to identify search terms for which your competitors are already ranking successfully, while your own website does not yet cover these keywords, or only insufficiently. Imagine that your competitors are attracting streams of visitors via certain search queries, while your website is coming up empty in this area. This is a content gap that needs to be closed.

The process involves extracting the keywords that your competitors rank for and then subtracting the keywords that your own site ranks for. The result is a focused list of keywords that can be used as a basis for optimising existing content or creating new, targeted content. This list represents a kind of ‘roadmap’ that helps you to create content that is not only relevant, but also has the potential to perform better in search results. Filters can help to identify the most relevant keywords, especially those for which several or even all competitors are ranking well.

In addition to pure keyword analysis, the sources offer numerous links to related topics that are relevant for the development of a comprehensive content strategy. These include automated text creation, data-driven content strategies, AI-based text generation and the creation of multilingual product texts.

Automated copywriting allows you to create and update content efficiently, while data-driven strategies ensure that your content is based on relevant data and insights. The use of AI can further improve the quality and relevance of your copy, and the inclusion of multilingual content gives you the opportunity to reach a global audience.
